Problems in the health-care system are long-standing and are the result of a lack of reforms. In a pandemic, however, is not the right time for sudden changes. This was what Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov said in an interview with BNT.

He pointed out that Bulgaria had enough hospital beds, but the problem was the shortage of doctors and nurses, as they have been looking for work abroad. In order to increase the interest in work in Bulgaria, the salaries of doctors will be raised on January 1 by 307 euros, of nurses - by 184 euros, and of ward assistants - by 61 euros.
