In the third quarter of 2020 the total household income in Bulgaria increased by 2.2% on an annual basis, while expenditure contracted by only 0.8%, a study of the National Statistical Institute shows.
The total average income per capita amounts to EUR 897. Meanwhile, total expenditures per capita contracted to 803 for the period. Incomes from salaries form 55.2% of the total income in the first trimester of 2020, followed by retirement incomes- 29.6% and incomes from self-employment- 6.5%.
In nominal terms, wage incomes remain unchanged to the tune of EUR 495. Retirement incomes increased by 11.1% from EUR 239 to EUR 302.
