Fewer foreigners visit Bulgaria in September: NSI

In September 2020, the number of trips of Bulgarians nationals abroad amounted to 555,600, which was 15% less than those registered in September 2019, the National Statistical Institute announced.

The number of visits of foreign nationals to Bulgaria amounted to 563,700, which was 56.2% less than the same period in 2019. The number of visits for holiday and recreation went down by 67.3% and the number of trips of foreign citizens for business purposes declined by 65%. The number of transit trips account for 45.25% of all visits of foreign nationals. 52.9% of all foreign nationals who visited this country in September were EU nationals.
