Tobacco growers and a large portion of stockbreeders will continue to have access to the transitional national aid over the next programming period, Minister of Agriculture Desislava Taneva wrote on Facebook.

The European Parliament has voted to maintain this aid for farmers. The proposal for this was made by Bulgaria and with the support of all Bulgarian MEPs from all political parties. The proposal is expected to be put to the vote at the EP by the end of the week, after which discussions will begin between the Council of the EU, the European Parliament and the European Commission  for finalizing the text of the future regulation.
