Bulgaria is among the EU countries imposing the highest fines under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which has been in place for two years. This country ranks 9th with fines imposed amounting to 3.21 million euro, Buy Shares reports.
The biggest fine was imposed on the National Revenue Agency – over 2.6 million euro – for personal data breach. The second biggest fine was imposed on DSK Bank in 2019 - 500,000 euro – for the unauthorized disclosure of the personal data of 33,492 clients with over 23,000 credit records which were communicated to third parties.
