Restoration of Ibrahim Pasha Mosque in Razgrad has begun

A state must take care of its monuments and temples, be they Orthodox, Catholic, mosques and synagogues, said in Razgrad Bulgaria's Minister of Culture Boil Banov. He was among the official guests at the ceremony for the start of the restoration of the Ibrahim Pasha mosque. According to Banov, the future of the mosque after the restoration is to be a museum, and whether religious services will be held there is a matter of other decisions.

No one can divide society, religion is to unite people, not to divide them, said Ahmed Ahmedov, MP and deputy chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. He was adamant that the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque should be a functioning temple, not a museum.
