Turkish Stream project will be delayed by six months and according to Bulgaria’s promise, will be completed at the end of 2020, the Russian energy giant Gazprom writes in a memorandum for new euro-bond issue. The construction of the gas pipeline had to be completed in the first half of 2020, Interfax reminds.

According to the agency, Bulgaria which has not completed its section of the gas pipeline (Balkan Stream) due to the Covid-19 pandemic is the reason for the delay. This country has to build a 474 kilometer-long pipeline from the border with Turkey to the Bulgaria-Serbia border. The project is estimated at EUR 1.1 billion without VAT. Meanwhile, Bulgaria is alreay receiving gas for own consumption from Turkish Stream, Interfax claims.
