Hemus 2020 defence exhibition opens in Plovdiv

“It is an honour for me to inaugurate the biggest Bulgarian defence equipment and services exhibition Hemus 2020 as we are marking its 25th anniversary,” said President Rumen Radev in Plovdiv.

During the ceremony two US F-16 fighter aircraft flew overhead.

“With the modernization of the Bulgarian army which we started the main aim is to include Bulgarian companies and to contribute to the development of the Bulgarian defence industry,” said on his part Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov.

The forum in Plovdiv’s fair grounds will continue until 3 October with the participation of 90 companies from 18 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.
