Bulgaria is part of the international programme “space mail” under which Bulgarian schoolchildren, along with students from other countries, will be able to send their messages into outer space until 23 October.

They will be launched on board the New Shepard rocket developed by Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin spaceflight company.

“Schoolchildren from all over the country have the chance to imagine what their role is in the future of the planet will be and try to find the answer to the question why Earth needs Space,” said Georgi Mitov from BrightCap for the BNR.

The messages will be put into a mail box – a special mini rocket at the Muzeiko children's science museum in Sofia. All children will get their cards back stamped “Flown to space!”
