After articles with manipulative suggestions about illegal actions of employees of the Migration Directorate - "expulsion" and "deportation" of a Turkish citizen to the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Interior categorically states that those were untrue, BTA has reported.

The illegally residing foreign citizen on the territory of Bulgaria Selahattin Ürün, after serving a sentence of 9 months in prison, was subject to the measure "return to the country of origin" in implementation of the Readmission Agreement between the EU and the Republic of Turkey.

The person has been denied refugee status and a measure "return to the country of origin" has been imposed, according to Article 41 of the Law on Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria. After the conclusion of the Readmission Agreement between the EU and the Republic of Turkey, since 2016 a total 431 persons residing illegally in Bulgaria have been deported from the territory of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Interior announced.
