The procedure for selection of strategic investor in the construction of Belene nuclear power plant has reached a phase when five large companies were provided with an information memorandum, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said during the parliamentary control. China, Korea, Russia and the USA showed interest in the project and companies from these countries were shortlisted as strategic investors in Belene NPP.
We are strictly following the decision of the National Assembly to look for ways to fulfill the project on a market-based principle, Minister Petkova said further.
