Bulgaria welcomes new commander of Southeast Europe Brigade

At a ceremony in Kumanovo, Deputy Chief of Defense Gen. Dimitar Iliev welcomed the new commander of the Multinational Peace Force in Southeast Europe, Brigade General Aristeidis Iliopoulos from Greece. He handed a congratulatory address to Iliopoulos by Bulgaria's Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov. 
"I am convinced that you will continue your efforts to increase the role of the Southeast Europe Brigade as an important factor in security and strengthening military cooperation in the region," the message read.
The brigade has existed for 21 years now and received a new deployment point at the Boro Menkov base near Kumanovo in North Macedonia.
