On the 50th day of anti-government protests in the country, three key intersections in Sofia remain blocked - at Eagles' Bridge, at Sofia University and between the Presidency and the Council of Ministers. This morning, the civil movement BOEC conducted yet another "surprise blockade" of a state institution - the Sofia Court House. The demands are for the resignation of the government, prosecutor general Ivan Geshev and machine voting.
Last night the protesters marched in the center of Sofia. They are adamant that the resignation of Justice Minister Danail Kirilov will not change anything.
Last night, opponents of the blockade once again gathered in front of the National Palace of Culture and at the Romanian Embassy. They intend to file a class action for damages to Sofia residents for "their violated right to free movement in the city and the attempted coup d'etat."
Another protest against the government and the Prosecutor General will be held tonight in Plovdiv at 7 pm. A procession will be held in coordination with the municipality, along the route of which traffic will be gradually restricted, the BNR reports.
A protest rally is also planned in Stara Zagora. It will end at the airport in the city.
