The number of complaints submitted by tourists to the Commission for Consumer Protection has increased two-fold. Tourists are most often complaining about cancelled holidays which have already been paid, the Chairman of the Commission for Consumer Protection Dimitar Margaritov said in an interview for BNT. Consumers are often complaining about extended money refund deadline for cancelled bookings caused by coronavirus. People want to get their money back, but the emergency legislation allows for a deferred refund within 12 months from the date of cancellation of the trip, Dimitar Mrgaritov notes. The consumer can also choose alternative trip instead.
