Former MPs Petar Slavov, Metodi Andreev and Martin Dimitrov have filed a lawsuit against the relocation of plenary sessions of Bulgaria's Parliament to the building of the former Communist Party headquarters as of September, bTV reported.

The three former deputies insist that the communist symbols be removed from the building"We filed a lawsuit after exhausting all other possibilities for referring the case to the responsible institutions," said lawyer Petar Slavov.

In a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture, the former deputies demand that the Law on the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Bulgaria be observed, according to which the state emblem should be placed on official institutions. In their opition, it can be placed on the spot where there are now remnants of the Soviet coat of arms.

However, Parliament Speaker Tsveta Karayancheva has responded that it would be very expensive.
