Tsvetan Tsvetanov

“Republicans for Bulgaria”- this is the name of the new party of the former Chairman of the Parliamentary group of GERB party Tsvetan Tsvetanov. This was announced by Tsvetnov himself in an interview for BTV. The new political formation will participate at the next Parliamentary elections.

The former vice-chairman of GERB and second-in-command after this party’s leader Boyko Borissov also said that he supported the antigovernment protests in Bulgaria and the demands of the protesters for resignation of this country’s cabinet. Tsvetan Tsvetanov left the National Assembly and the leadership positions of GERB in 2019 due to the scandal related to the purchase of apartment below market value. In June this year he left GERB party and announced that membership in GERB was no longer a cause for pride for him.
