The action of the prosecutor's office in the presidency and the landing of Hristo Ivanov on Rosenets, which started the protests, are just the matchstick that ignited the spark of dissatisfaction accumulated over the years. This is what Hristo Panchugov, a political scientist and lecturer at the New Bulgarian University has told the BNR.

He says protests have succeeded in showing Bulgarian citizens that they could control and change Bulgarian policy, if they wanted. According to him, protest will not subside and postponement of resignations was a tactical decision until the right moment for the next elections. According to him, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov was currently paying the price for the image he has built in recent years as a man fulfilling political orders of various private interests in Bulgaria.
