A demonstration called “Dogan Saray (seraglio) Beach Festival” is taking place on the beach in Rosenets park next to the mansion of the honourary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Ahmed Dogan – one of the most influential people in Bulgaria.
The event was organized on social media and is mottoed: We want Dogan to fire Borissov! The protesters made a pile of rocks from the beach in which they installed a Bulgarian national flag.
“The idea is to clear away the rocks from the beach and make room for more sunbathers,” said Asen Bondzhev, author of the initiative.
Surprisingly, Ahmed Dogan came out of his mansion to hear out the demands of the demonstrators for rule of law and the resignations of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev.
A mass sunbathing initiative has also been called for today at Alepu on the southern portion of the Black Sea coast in front of the construction site of a multi-storey building, officially declared to be a retaining wall. There too a pile of rocks will be made with a placard on it that reads “Resign!”
