United Group has completed a deal to acquire Bulgaria's largest telecom, BTC. Earlier this year, United Group also acquired TELE 2 Croatia. The deal for the Greek TV and internet provider FORTHNET is about to be finalized, too.

The company will end 2020 with over 10 million users and over 11,000 employees. The European Commission approved the acquisition in April. According to the Financial Times, the deal for Vivacom is worth 1.2 billion euros, making it the largest in Bulgaria's corporate history. Just over 50% of United Group is owned by the Serbian BC Partners, investor.bg recalls. United Group, which is present in all former Yugoslav republics, said it would invest in the renovation of BTC.
