Last night’s 22nd anti-government protest demanding the resignations of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev passed without incident, the Bulgarian National Radio’s reporters say.
The protesters carried placards “Resign” and “Mafia – get out!”, “We want our country back”.
Traffic in the centre of Sofia remains blocked, after, on Wednesday, some of the protesters put up tent camps as a sign of protest. Tents have been put up in the space between the buildings of the Presidency and the Council of Ministers, as well as at the key intersection at Eagles’ Bridge. Some of the urban transport routes remain altered because of the protest.
