Bulgarian high-school students earned 1 gold and 4 bronze medals at the European Physics Olympiad, competing with 280 participants from 57 countries. The competition was held online in two rounds - theoretical and experimental, the team leader Georgi Alexandrov told the BNR.

Unlike previous editions, simulation software was used for the experimental part to obtain the final results of two real experiments.  The work was monitored all the time via video connection by the organizers.
Alexander Prodanov, a student in the 10th grade from the town of Kazanlak, won a gold medal. Alexander Iliev, Ivo Petrov and Todor Todorov from Sofia won bronze medals.
