Anti-government protests continue for 16th consecutive day

Protesters are gathering in front of the Presidency Building downtown Sofia to demand for the 16th consecutive day the resignation of Bulgaria’s cabinet and of this country’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev. Protesters do not accept the cabinet reshuffles. “This is not a change. It is only a shift of figures, nothing more”, a participant at the protest told BNT. Protesters are planning to block key junctions in Sofia for the third consecutive day. The organizers of the protest complained that the cargo vehicle transporting sound equipment for their protests was stopped near Sofia and its registration plates were removed.

Protests are held in other Bulgarian towns as well. Traffic at the entrance of the coastal town of Burgas was temporarily heavy due to a vehicle procession which lasted for one hour.
