Political instability and US sanctions are affecting current gas pipeline projects, Kiril Temelkov, a former executive director of Bulgartransgaz, told the BNR. Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev commented that he did not expect that the US sanctions against the Russian Turkish Stream project would affect the Bulgarian Balkan Stream pipeline. This project should be seen as an expansion of Bulgaria's gas pipeline system, carried out by the state-owned company Bulgartransgaz, the deputy prime minister said.
