A protest has started at Kulata border checkpoint on the day that the border with Greece reopens.
The protest is organized by owners of fruit and vegetable warehouses who warned, last week, that discontent has been growing with a Bulgarian Food Safety Agency order obligating them to test every batch imported from Greece, the charge for which ranges from 420 to 600 Leva.
A 4-km. line of trucks has already formed in the direction of Greece. The protesters are demanding that the charge for the pesticide tests be reduced, and that they take place within the working day. They also want the charge dropped for Bulgarian producers.
