The coronavirus and humans adapt and evolve together

The coronavirus was expected to continue with localized outbreaks. The people responsible for tackling the situation are doing well, Prof. Radostina Alexandrova, virologist at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio. The virus does not aim to kill us, but to spread more, which can only happen in living cells. That is why we are evolving together - the virus adapts to us and we adapt to it, Alexandrova explained. She is adamant that we should not allow the virus to control us, because fear is not a good advisor, but neither is recklessness.
It is not the only known human coronavirus. There are four more common human coronaviruses that are less popular and normally cause a common cold, the professor added.
