A total of 193,732 tests for Covid-19, including 85,435 PCR tests, were made in Bulgaria since the beginning of the epidemic, the head of the National Coronavirus Headquarters Major General Ventsislav Mutafchiyski announced, summarizing the data about the coronavirus epidemic in Bulgaria on the 100th day since the establishment of the coronavirus headquarters. Patients with Covid-19 have received medical treatment in 77 Bulgarian hospitals.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 2,585. A total of 1,317 patients were admitted to hospitals in the past months, of whom 156 in intensive-care units. 50 people were placed on ventilators. 36 of them passed away and 11 were successfully extubated. 1,325 women and 1,260 men tested positive for Covid-19. 145 children were diagnosed with the virus. 20% of the people infected with Covid-19 were aged between 50 and 59 and 19% of the patients were aged between 60 and 69.
281 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Bulgaria’s health system. 270 medics tested positive for Covid-19 and the rest are ambulance drivers and administrative personnel. According to the National Information System, the Covid-19 death toll amounts to 149 people and according to the National Coronavirus Headquarters, there are 147 victims of Covid-19 in Bulgaria. 1,322 people recovered completely from Covid-19. Most Covid-19 fatalities were mainly due to underlying health conditions such as diabetes, chronic cardio-vascular and pulmonary diseases.
