Interest in theatre in Bulgaria on the rise

A total of 15,955 performances were organized in 2019 in the 74 theatre houses in the country, watched by 2 million 516,000 viewers.

Compared to 2018 there is a 5.3% increase in the number of performances and visits. The average number of viewers of a performance remains the same – 158, indicate National Statistical Institute data.

There are 36 drama, 22 puppet, 7 drama and puppet, 7 opera and 2 ballet theatres in the country.
