The Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis said in an exclusive interview with the Bulgarian National Radio that the regular report of the Commission for the so-called European Semester containing recommendations for Bulgaria has nothing to do with the dropped Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification.

The European Semester is not linked to the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, he stated. As for the mechanism, there was already a report on it in October 2019. It concludes that Bulgaria has already met all the requirements. This has not changed and there is nothing new here, Dombrovskis commented.
