The fact that two months after the introduction of the state of emergency, the Bulgarian cabinet cannot tell the real number of people infected with Covid-19 and the number of those who already recovered from the virus, means bad management of the crisis, the Chairman of the Center for Protection of Rights in Healthcare and former Deputy Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio. In his view, the health system at present remains idle. Comparative analysis between 10 EU countries shows that there is no correlation between the severity of the measures and the number of infected and deceased. In some countries such as Germany and Sweden which adopted softer measures, the number of infected and deceased per capita is lower than in countries like Italy, Spain and France, which adopted drastic measures. The number of people tested for Covid-19 is of major importance. It also matters whether we test people who contacted with Covid-19 patients or only people with symptoms, the expert notes further.
