On the International Nurses Day the Association of Bulgarian Nurses has submitted a petition of 12,000 signatures to the Bulgarian Council of Ministers, the Bulgarian National Assembly and the Bulgarian Ministry of Health demanding better working conditions and higher wages. The coronavirus pandemic showed that reforms in the health system are necessary, because there are almost no nurses left in Bulgaria, the Chairperson of the Association of Bulgarian Nurses Maya Ilieva told the Bulgarian National Radio. The hospitals cannot function as commercial companies and healthcare is not a trade, Maya Ilieva added.
