Bulgaria's Minister of Health is determine anti-epidemic measures by legal decree. This is to be done at the suggestion of the Chief State Sanitary Inspector and the regional health inspectors, new amendments to the Health Act envisage. The amendments will take effect after the end of the state of emergency and are discussed at first reading in parliament.

In the debate, the United Patriots, who are part of the ruling coalition, said they would support the changes. Opposition parties MRF and Volia also announced they would vote on the new measures.
Only the left-wing BSP opposition said it would abstain. According to the Socialists, the introduction of a  "sanitary emergency regime" has no constitutional basis.
