47 new cases of Covid-19 registered in Bulgaria in past 24 hours, National Crisis Headquarters ceases regular briefings

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,588. A total of 1,126 tests for the novel coronavirus were made in this country in the past 24 hours. 47 new cases of Covid-19 were registered. 22 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the town of Vidin (Northwest Bulgaria). Razgrad entered the list of Bulgarian districts with confirmed cases of Covid-19. 1 person was diagnosed with coronavirus infection there. Targovishte remains the only Bulgarian district without confirmed cases of Covid-19.

There are 1,232 active cases of Covid-19 in Bulgaria. 3 people, inclding a forty three-year-old female doctor working at the intensive-care unit of the hospital in Sleven, died in the past 24 hours. Thus, the total Covid-19 death tool rose to 69 people. 287 patients recovered from Covid-19.

According to the international expert community, the significant coronavirus activity will continue between 18 and 24 months. That is why each country has to find a balance between anti-epidemic measures and the restoration of economic and public life. Bulgaria will analyze the situation and will gradually ease the restrictive measures and activities.

Following today’s decision of Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov, the National Crisis Headquarters ceases its regular daily briefings. Information about the Covid-19 situation in this country will be provided via summaries.
