According to mathematical models, Bulgaria has experienced one peak of Covid-19, which was in early April. After that, there has been a decline and the country is now climbing to the next peak, the head of the National Covid-19 Crisis Staff, Gen. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, said.

New hotspots of the virus are occurring with a relatively large number of infected persons, but due to regional health inspections, they get restricted and reduced.
In Mutafchiyski's opinion, there is no unanimous opinion as to the best option for reopening schools and kindergartens. All of the available options pose risks and might complicate the epidemiological situation.
Regarding the state of emergency, this is a political decision and we do not comment on political decisions, Mutafchiyski added.
