Lower natural gas prices as of May

The price of natural gas could go down, as of May, by more than the 7% envisaged. The reason is the collapse of the price of oil and its derivatives on the world markets over the past few days.

“The recalculations will be presented on 1 May,” said Bulgargaz CEO Nikolay Pavlov. Whether central heating and hot water prices will go down and by how much, as a result of the drop in natural gas prices, is yet to become clear. Under the agreement concluded recently between Bulgargaz and its Russian supplier Gazprom Export,  the price of oil is calculated every month according to a formula which includes the prices of oil and gas from several European hubs.
