The radiation situation in Bulgaria is in its normal range, the heads of the Fire Safety and Civil Defense Chief Directorate and the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology categorically said at an extraordinary briefing at the Council of Ministers Building. The special briefing was held to reject the rumors circulating on the social media of a danger in connection with the fire near the former nuclear power station Chernobyl in Ukraine. The radiation situation has not changed even with the north-east wind, Director of National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology Hristomir Branzov commented at the briefing. Radiation monitoring stations are functioning on the territory of the whole country and radiation is within the normal range, Director of the Fire Safety and Civil Defense Chief Directorate Nikolay Nikolov said.
