Holy Week begins

After Palm Sunday, Holy Week begins today for Orthodox Christians, the week leading up to Easter.

In the conditions of the emergency measures over the Covid-19 pandemic, the Holy Synod insisted on keeping churches in Bulgaria open, with the customary religious services taking place in them, though people going to them will have to keep a physical distance of 2 metres and wear protective face masks. The authorities have called on the public not to go to church unless absolutely necessary.

Last night, at the end of Palm Sunday, doctors from Pirogov emergency hospital and the Military Medical Academy came out in front of the hospital buildings to applaud the people who complied with the recommendations to stay home, and, once again urged the public: Show responsibility and solidarity, stay home! Thank you!
