Two arrested for trafficking of 72 kg of heroin from Middle East to Western Europe

Two people have been detained for heroin trafficking in a specialized police operation. One of the detainees is a foreign national permanently residing in Bulgaria. Two other persons have been declared internationally wanted. In the course of the investigation, at a truck parking lot in Haskovo, southern Bulgaria, 72 kilograms of heroin worth more than EUR 5 million (BGN 10 million) were found in a truck with Bulgarian license plates. The drug was transported from countries in the Middle East through Bulgaria to Western Europe.
