The tourism sector is in extremely difficult condition, this country’s Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova said. Tourism has entered such an unprecedented global crisis for the first time. Most flights were suspended over the COVID-19 crisis and currently the hotels are functioning under strict disinfection measures and are offering room service only. According to latest data by March 25, a total of 1,025 people are accommodated in Bulgarian hotels, which is less than 1% of the tourists accommodated in hotels in the same period last year. We will offer tourist vouchers in line with the EU directive and we hope that users will accept vouchers valid for 24 months, Minister Angelkova added.
