The newly-established logistics supply management center has started functioning already, it became clear during a briefing of the Bulgarian Council of Ministers. The necessary organization for delivery of protective clothing, face-protection masks and other protective items and materials is now in place. A team of scientists, mathematicians and statisticians from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences are providing assistance to the logistics management center via real-time information and forecasts. According to mathematical models developed by the scientists, the measures undertaken by the authorities to limit the spread of the covronavirus have already yielded some results and if people abide by the quarantine measures, in one or two weeks the number of COVID-19 cases may decrease and within two to three months the epidemic may be put under control.
