President Rumen Radev: I call on everyone to treat current situation with understanding

At the initiative of President Rumen Radev, a meeting is being held in Sofia over implementing measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Bulgaria. Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev, Minister of Interior Mladen Marinov, Chief of the National Operations Staff Major General Ventsislav Mutafchiyski and others participate in the meeting.

The President called on citizens to be sensitive and responsible at the backdrop of the complex situation. He pointed out that efforts against the coronavirus outbreak have been effective and so far Bulgaria has kept the spread of COVID-19 at a low level. He thanked Bulgarians for following the measures set by institutions.

President Radev pointed out that along with the crisis in the healthcare system in this country, economic and social crisis was underway in this country, which could turn into a humanitarian crisis for thousands of Bulgarians. "The state is taking steps to prevent this," the President pointed out.
