Seizing paintings and artifacts from the collection of businessman Vasil Bozhkov, who was detained in the United Arab Emirates at the request of Sofia, has begun.

Prosecutors and restorers are in the offices of Nove Holding, where more than 3000 objects are stored. About 20 paintings have already been seized from Vasil Bozhkov's home, the Ministry of Culture reported. The painting are the work of Bulgarian and foreign masters. The process will take a long time because the artifacts are described in detail by a specially appointed committee. The preservation will take place at the National Museum of History and at the National Gallery. The value of the collection of one of the richest Bulgarians is yet to be calculated, but sums between 200 and 600 million euros are mentioned.
