Majority shareholder of Levski football club detained in UAE

The majority stakeholder of Levski football club Georgi Popov has been detained in the United Arab Emirates together with businessman Vasil Bozhkov. Popov possesses nearly 85% of the shares of Levski PFC. The authorities of the United Arab Emirates have sent an official confirmation to Bulgaria about the arrest of Georgi Popov and Vasil Bozhkov. The Bulgarian authorities are preparing the necessary documents for the extradition of the two Bulgarians, the Prosecutor’s Office has announced.
