6.9 million children or 7 percent of all in the EU do not live in their country of birth, according to a study by the European Commission's Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography. Romania ranks first in this chart as nearly 600,000 Romanian children have been living in another EU country. Poland comes second with 240,000 children. Bulgaria is third with about 134,000 children living in other EU countries. The three countries with the largest populations in the EU - France, Germany and Italy, rank fourth, fifth and sixth respectively in the ranking. About 10 300 children from non-EU countries are living in Bulgaria.
