Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has accepted the resignation of the Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov which he submitted earlier today. Nenov spent last night in arrest after being detained in the course of the investigation of the Pernik water crisis. Dimov has been charged by the prosecutor's office with intentional mismanagement for allowing industrial use of drinking water intended for the residents of the town of Pernik for a period of one year. He remains under 72 hours arrest, and prosecutors will demand his permanent arrest.
VMRO leader and Deputy Prime Minister Krassimir Karakachanov called the authorities' action "an ostentatious murder".  Who will replace Dimov in his office as Environment Minister will become clear next week after a meeting of the Coalition Council of GERB and the United Patriots.
