Bulgaria’s new Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev took an oath of office at an official ceremony at the Sofia Court House. The President of the Bulgarian National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva, Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice Danail Kirilov, this country’s Minister of Interior Mladen Marinov and the members of the Supreme Judicial Council attended the ceremony. Ivan Geshev has worked for over 23 years in Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office. The former Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov was appointed by the Bulgarian Parliament to head the Commission for Combating Corruption and Forfeiture of Illegally Acquired Property.
