Sotir Tsatsarov heads Bulgaria’s Anticorruption Commission

The Bulgarian MPs approved the candidature of Sotir Tsatsarov to become Chairman of the Commission for Combating Corruption and Withdrawal of Illegally Acquired Property. 165 MPs voted in favor, 30 MPs voted against and 3 MPs abstained. Tsatsarov, who currently serves as Prosecutor General of Bulgaria, was nominated for Chairman of the Anti-corruption Commission by the ruling coalition.  Sotir Tsatsarov has long experience and merits during his term of office as Prosecutor General. Moreover, there is good cooperation between the Anti-corruption commission and the Prosecutor’s Office, MP Emil Dimitrov from the United Patriots pointed out. Dimitrov had personally negotiated with Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Tsatsarov to submit his candidature for head of the Anti-corruption Commission.
