Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev signs decree appointing Ivan Geshev as this country’s new Prosecutor General

Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev announced today that he signed the decree appointing Ivan Geshev as this country’s new Prosecutor General after the only candidate for this position assured him that he would work for an independent and transparent prosecutor’s office. Meanwhile, Bulgaria’s head of state announced that he will initiate a broad public debate for constitutional changes and he intends to invite representatives of the democratic community, parliamentary parties, institutions, professional associations and civil organizations to join the debate. Bulgaria will become a normal European country when it realizes its power and responsibility and when civic participation and control over institutions are enhanced, President Radev added:
