770 foreign nationals can vote today at the local elections in Bulgaria. These are citizens of the EU with a status of permanent residents in Bulgaria who have lived for at least the last 6 months in a given municipality before the elections.Linda and Peter Doane from Great Britain have lived in Bulgaria for 12 years, Radio Vidin informs. They chose to settle in the smallest municipality in the northwestern part of Vidin district- Boynitsa Municipality. Only 1,000 people live in this Bulgarian municipality. Linda and Peter say it is important to vote. We fell in love with Bulgaria and especially in this part of the country, Linda says. We did a survey on how to vote for local authorities and for mayor and how we can vote in Bulgaria.

Sheila and Stephen Payne also chose Boynitsa to London. We love Bulgaria. It is our home now. It is definitely important to vote on all elections. This is democracy, Sheila and Stephen comment. Although some foreign citizens show interest in real estate properties in Boynitsa and the village center was reconstructed, there are many residential districts with abandoned houses, because the people who lived there are gone, some worried residents say and explain: They went to look for a better life in the big Bulgarian cities or abroad.
