British police say 39 bodies have been found near London in a lorry container that had come from Bulgaria.

Essex police say people have been pronounced dead at the scene in an industrial park east of London. It has been reported that the victims are 38 adults and one teenager. It has already been confirmed that the truck found in Essex has Bulgarian registration plates. There is no indication of the nationality of the human bodies found in the truck. A 25-year-old man from Northern Ireland has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior has already received official information about the truck from the UK authorities, which have confirmed that the lorry arrived from Bulgaria.

“This is a Bulgarian truck and we have been devastated by all these deaths,” Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said. "Ever since the truck was registered, it has never entered Bulgaria again," the Bulgarian Prime Minister said, adding that Bulgaria was not connected with the case, except when it came for the truck's plates.
