Bulgaria is to host a meeting part of the Aqaba Process in 2020. This was what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and King Abdullah II of Jordan agreed on in Amman. The Aqaba Meetings initiated by Amman focus on international coordination of the fight against terrorism. So far, the forum has been hosted by Jordan, Albania and the Netherlands.

There are over 1.2 million migrants in Jordan and PM Borisov is committed to bringing the issue to the European Council. We highly appreciate Jordan's role as an "island of stability" in the region and its balanced foreign policy, the Bulgarian PM added. A general desire to expand the fruitful relations between Bulgaria and Jordan in the field of defense has also been expressed.
